STEP ONE

College application strategy

After many sessions with your consultant, you will have a comprehensive strategy from the beginning until you receive your admission offers. The strategy includes:

Application major, minor and theme
Academic planning including rigor, diversity and score targets
Extracurricular activities and academic competitions
Detailed timeline every year before applications

STEP TWO

Building extracurricular profile

Before the application year, the most important part of the process is building your extracurricular profile so that you can demonstrate your application theme to the admission officers.

Your profile is strengthened in the following ways:

Exploring different interests and narrowing down your passions
Participating for many years to show continuation and commitment
Expanding existing projects to have more impact
Developing leadership and providing opportunities for others

STEP THREE

Standardized testing

We offer support for both of the required standardized testing: SAT and ACT. Our consultants have taught hundreds of students and they have all scored in the 99th percentile. As a result, every year, many of our students receive perfect scores. If English is your second language, we also offer TOEFL and IELTS tutoring.

STEP FOUR

Essay writing

Your main common application long essay and the various supplementary essays for your universities allow you to show a different side of yourself that perhaps, numbers on a page cannot. We help you brainstorm your essays and give feedback so that your writing is compelling, persuasive, and poignant. Contact us for some samples from previously admitted students.

STEP FIVE

Interview practice

The US colleges often invite their alumni to interview potential students. Our consultants have all been alumni interviewers in the past and know about the potential questions that may be asked in these interviews.

In addition to mock interviews, we will also work with you on the intonation, speed and clarity of your speech.

STEP SIX

Teacher references

Usually three teacher references are required for application: two from teachers who have taught you in the classroom and one from your career counsellor or school management who can attest to your extracurricular pursuits. These letters are usually one page long, with plenty of anecdotes to bring you to life!
