HYP Academy is the leading specialist in the world for Oxford and Cambridge admissions. These universities all have acceptance rates under 20% which is extremely competitive. The acceptance rates would be under 10%, but students can only apply to either Oxford or Cambridge, but not both. STEP ONE

University application strategy

After many sessions with your consultant, you will have a comprehensive strategy from the beginning until you receive your admission offers. The strategy includes:

Course selection
Academic planning including rigor, diversity and score targets
Extracurricular activities and academic competitions related to your course
Detailed timeline every year before applications

STEP TWO

Building extracurricular profile

Before the application year, an important part of the process is building your extracurricular profile so that you can demonstrate your passion for your academic subject to the admission officers.

Your profile is strengthened in the following ways:

Exploring different interests related to your major
Participating for many years to show continuation and commitment
Expanding existing projects to have more impact
Developing leadership and providing opportunities for others
Increasing scale to regional, national, and even international level
Garnering recognition from your school, community and even country

STEP THREE

UK admission exam

We offer support for many of the admission exams for UK universities such as BMAT, UCAT, LNAT, PAT, MAT and TSA. Our consultants have taught dozens of students and they have all scored in the 99th percentile. As a result, every year, many of our students receive scores in the 99th percentile too. If English is your second language, we also offer TOEFL and IELTS tutoring.

Essay writing

Your personal statement allows you to show a different side of yourself that perhaps, numbers on a page cannot. We help you brainstorm your essay and give feedback so that your writing is compelling, persuasive, and scholarly. Contact us for some samples from previously admitted students.

STEP FIVE

Interview practice

Most of the time, only Oxbridge will require interviews with their faculty. In addition to mock interviews, we will also work with you on the intonation, speed and clarity of your speech.

STEP SIX

Teacher references

Only one reference is required by the UK universities. However, you can ask for references from multiple teachers who teach subjects related to your major. Then your career counsellor can combine these references together. These letters are usually one page long, academically focused, with some anecdotes to bring you to life!
